Drunk Driver Involved in Fox Theater Atlanta Crash

Police were called out to deal with an Atlanta crash last Sunday.

Calls flooded into the station at about 2:15 am. The reports were that a vehicle had crashed into a nearby building.

When the cops and rescue personnel arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle wedged into the side of a building. The driver of a pickup truck had crashed into the side of the famous Fox Theater. The police could see glass shattered all around the truck.

Apparently, the male driver of the pickup truck had run off the road. He told officers that he had been forced off the road by another vehicle resulting in this Atlanta crash. However, witnesses confirmed that this was not the case. From what the police could gather, the driver may have been drunk at the time of the accident. He lost control of his vehicle and then slammed into a light pole. After hitting the pole, he proceeded to crash through a parking sign. His truck came to rest after smashing into the side of the building.

The damage to the building was on the side near 660 Peachtree Street NE. The areas of the theater that sustained the worst damages were the ticket sales desk and the box office. Thankfully, nobody was in the theater at the time of the crash.

The police have not released the name of the driver. They also haven’t confirmed if there were other people in the car with the suspect. Significant damage to the Fox Theater was sustained. The police did arrest the driver at the scene. However, there have been no charges filed yet.
